“Over these past 10 seasons, I was privileged to have been so generously invited to present officially on the calendar of Paris Haute Couture Week. My engagement in Paris was truly immersive and filled with the most wonderful experiences. Therefore, it is a bittersweet moment for me to announce that I shall be stepping away from Paris to pursue other rewarding endeavours and spend my time fully dedicated to creating the next exciting chapter of my journey. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you for all of the support, encouragement and faith that you have in me. FROM THE FEDERATION DE LA HAUTE COUTURE (FHCM) TO FOCUS ON A NUMBER OF LANDMARK PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES.
Beijing, 1 May 2021 – After five successful years as a Guest Member on the official calendar of Paris Haute Couture Week, Guo Pei has announced she is withdrawing from the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM), in order to focus on a number of high- profile projects and initiatives.
Since making her Paris debut with her spring/summer 2016 collection, Guo Pei has been an inspiring and acclaimed Guest Member of FHCM and a key presence on the Haute Couture runways. Reflecting on this, she told Paris’s governing body for Haute Couture, the FHCM, that she would like to “express my heartfelt gratitude for allowing me to experience what has been the honour of a lifetime, to be officially invited to present my couture collections as part of Paris Haute Couture Week. I shall remain eternally grateful for the precious trust, deep faith and great recognition that I have received from it.”
The last ten Couture seasons in Paris has been a unique platform to present the creative vision of Guo Pei and Rose Studio, her couture house, to a wider audience. Commenting on this, Guo Pei, said, “It has also allowed for numerous opportunities for me to forge strong friendships and valuable connections in Paris and across the world. It has enabled the interpretation of my couture artistry to evolve, be inspired and indeed influenced by the incredible talent of my Parisian cohort and renowned contemporaries.”

Paris has been a powerful commercial catalyst for Guo Pei, which has seen her undertake numerous high- profile projects and gamer critical acclaim. From China: Through the Looking Glass exhibition held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, to being on TIME’S 100 Most Influential List, addressing the United Nations General Assembly and meeting with Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, Guo Pei has been a beacon for Chinese creativity and exceptional craftsmanship. The culmination of this, has been a burgeoning international interest in her creative vision and ability to bridge cultural differences. She offers a unique Chinese perspective and an artistic connection between brands and people from across the globe.

Guo Pei and Rose Studio now stand ready to embrace an impressive number of commercial opportunities that will open a further chapter in her global reputation. With contractual deals and agreements with over a dozen different multinational Top 500 Forbes listed companies and more than 10 of the world’s foremost museums, this marks an exciting milestone for this renowned couturier. While full details of these projects will be announced in due course, they will result in a number of creative partnerships, productions, and couture exhibitions across major cities spanning four continents. Withan immense dedication to her craft, Guo Pei must inevitably shift her focus to these important initiatives and has therefore had to significantly scale back her commitments to showing in Paris.
She said, “I fully anticipate that these meaningful commitments will inevitably take most of my time away from the dedication required for my next couture collection. I have the utmost reverence for the institution of couture and hold the unique platform in Paris in the highest esteem. My participation in Paris has greatly impacted the representation of French couture in China. It created a wave of much wider awareness, understanding and appreciation for this fine artistry and French couture.”
While Guo Pei will take time away from presenting in Paris, her focus and commitment remain on embodying the spirit and craftsmanship that couture represents across the body of her work. Above all, she will continue to champion both its creativity and the many thousands of artisans, and skilled workers who contribute to it. The next few years represent an exciting chapter for Guo Pei, Rose Studio and couture across the world. She said, “I am delighted to move forward and focus on so many inspiring projects and partnerships with leading organisations around the world, and in doing so bring the spirit of Chinese couture and my own vision to a wider global audience.”
