Bernard Arnault becomes the second largest world fortune

The French Bernard Arnault becomes the second largest world fortune

Only a man on Earth is richer than him. The French Bernard Arnault, president of the luxury group LVMH has become the second world fortune beyond the co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, but remaining behind another American: the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos.

LVMH’s Bernard Arnault is now the second wealthiest person in the world according to the daily Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. The French luxury tycoon overtook Bill Gates for the second-place position for the first time since the list began in 2013 with an estimated fortune of $108 billion – $1 billion more than Gates. Arnault has reportedly made $39 billion in 2019 alone. Amazon’s Jeff Bezos continues to top the list with a net worth of $125 billion. However, the rankings are a bit deceiving as Gates would easily be number one had he not donated billions to his charitable foundation.
