With her moody and sensuous Spring Summer 2021 collection, Cecilie Bahnsen sends her women on a journey inspired by nature, unity and hope. A new fabric discovery this season is the sequin embroidery made in Switzerland.
Cecilie Bahnsen presents her Spring Summer 2021 collection with a short film “The Summit” shot on the windswept west coast of Jutland, Denmark. This beautiful and ethereal film takes inspiration from Cecilie’s vision this season of a group of women out in nature on a symbolic journey. The film features on the Paris Fashion Week official calendar on Monday 28th September.
The unique machine embroidery is airy, light and the beautiful 3D texture moves and flickers in the wind. In the studio, Cecilie and her team have created floral embroidered organza overlays. The simple silhouettes contrast the beautiful hand-stitched detailing and the shimmering flower beads seem to dance in the light as the fabric moves.
The light organza overlays are worn over the dresses, tailoring and sculptural outerwear making them a key to this season’s styling of the collection.
Cecilie is known for bringing the traditions and exquisite fabrics of haute couture to her modern Danish sensibility. All novelty fabrics are designed in-house and made in Europe.
The label is also using recycled fabrics, such as this season’s cashmere knit and faille.

Cecilie Bahnsen operates at the intersection of couture and ready-to-wear to create luxury clothing with a relaxed, timeless style.
Celebrating the traditions of fine French fashion and the design culture of Scandinavia, the collections combine craftsmanship and details with architectural volumes and sculptural silhouettes to offer a contemporary take on femininity.
Unique fabrics are hand-designed each season by founder and LVMH Prize finalist Cecilie Bahnsen, a Copenhagen native who returned to her home town to found her eponymous label in 2015 after studying at the Royal College of Art in London and working with couture houses in Paris.
Her aim is to craft effortless clothes that last and that can transform the wearer, with unexpected combinations of softness and structure, minimal and maximal, perfect and imperfect. Each collection builds on the previous one to develop a world of pieces that can be cherished for years, passed between friends, and reinterpreted and restyled to express the individuality of the wearer.
