For the second season of this label several things have shifted; its available more widely after its initial season of exclusivity at Saks, and now there is menswear as well.
The two collections sit in harmony side by side with fabric and colour linking and blending between the two.
Leather of the finest quality made in Italy is to be found in both collections and there may not be androgyny but the understanding that today’s men and women can covet or even share wardrobe pieces is very clear.
Irene Roth is passionate about quality and the finish, trimmings and details to every piece shouts this out loud and clear.
Parked down to specific pieces and not over elaborate, as with the first season it is clear she understands and knows her customer. Strict editing means there isn’t too much, but there is still a balanced range to take the customer through the day, and to many events and occasions.
A simple skinny top, or a soft hooded pull on top, soft easy pants or a skinny sports pant? Skinny shapes through to easy casual shapes provide a spectrum of options, easy and relaxed at home curled up on the sofa or up town bar nursing a cocktail; the collection takes it all in.
Clothes created for busy professionals who may be on the school run one moment and at a board meeting the next, it’s about a modern functionality without being workwear.
As I looked through the rails, I realised that these are the kind of clothes Irene Roth told me last season, had been created because she couldn’t find them, well she can now, and so can many very other happy customers.
If you want a job doing well, do it yourself.
