Haute couture, the most beautiful Parisian fashion shows. On Thursday July 4, the Schiaparelli house will open the ball with a show at 10 a.m. From 2 p.m., selected guests will be able to discover the new haute couture pieces by Maria Grazia Chiuri during the Dior show. On July 5, Chanel will not have one, but two shows on the program at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Under the artistic direction of Virginie Viard, a film of the show will also be shared online from 2 p.m.

What is haute couture? Initially, haute couture was the means of launching the luxury industry. She originally played the role of avant-garde and that the parades exposed the fashion trends. Currently, it is a showcase that displays the know-how of the workshops, brings a brand image, contributes to the prestige and influence of the fashion house. Haute couture consists of selling lines of ready-to-wear, cosmetics, accessories, perfumes and glasses and expanding its clientele. However, haute couture is tailor-made clothing. However, it is essential to respect very strict rules to become members of haute couture.

There are 3 types of haute couture members: permanent members, corresponding members and guest members. To become one of these members it is necessary to meet certain numbers of conditions. First of all, their creations must be made by hand, in a fashion house whose workshop should be composed of at least 20 people. Then, their fashion houses must parade at least twice a year and present at least 25 models at each passage. And finally, they must be listed for at least 4 years in the official couture collection calendar and must also be sponsored by another couture house.

Members of haute couture indeed relate to the haute couture houses participating in the parade. To start its participation in haute couture, you will have to go through the status of guest members. It is a transitional status to become an expert in haute couture. After 4 years, you will be passed on as a permanent member. It is the member who really possesses the appellation of Haute Couture. These members are still listed in the official calendar. And finally, the corresponding member is a foreign haute couture member.
