Alexandra VAN HOUTTE / TAGWALK
TAGWALK is a free fashion search engine which allows you to search for models, trends, accessories and fashion shows by keywords.
Created on February 19, 2016, the company and the tool TAGWALK is the first “search tool” for catwalk looks filtered by keywords.
Alexandra Van Houtte, the founder, grew up between Paris and London. She studied Mandarin Chinese for four years at the University of Nottingham, lived in China for a year and then did a Masters in Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion.
Since the age of 15, Alexandra has done internships at the Sunday Times Style, Elle France, Numéro Magazine and Lanvin. She also participated in the “summer schools” of Central Saint Martin in art for three years.
After working as a stylist assistant for various international media such as Numéro, Glamour, Vogue Italia, i-D, Grazia, Alexandra decided to create her own website. TAGWALK aims to facilitate the international search for fashion shows in Paris, Milan, London and New York as well as those of young international designers for the press, stylists, journalists, fashion students, trend setters…
TAGWALK is based on three words: parades, simplicity and speed.
ABOUT TAGWALK:
Tagwalk combines the principle of Voguerunway with two influential social networks: Instagram and Pinterest. “I created Tagwalk for stylist assistants, students, journalists and trend seekers. The site is free, available in English and French and I wanted it to be ergonomic and very functional,” continues Alexandra. Based on a system of keywords (like Instagram hashtags), Tagwalk makes it possible for a given season to find all the corresponding looks presented during the New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks and then to create moodboards, taking up the pinterest concept.
